First of all I should explain what a Zoid is. A Zoid is a mechanized robot shaped after an animal. Zoids are controlled by people through a cockpit similar to a jets'. Zoids move just like the animal it is based after. Some Zoids are based on Lions, Saber Tooth Tigers, or T-rexes etc. All Zoids have weapons such as machine guns or missile launchers.

There are a lot of different types of Zoids. There are high speed Zoids, flying Zoids, and high powered Zoids just to name a few. In the past they were used as tools of war but in the future they are used for competitions. Two teams of Zoid pilots enter an arena and battle it out.
